About position:

As a Data Scientist in Zedge, you will use data to provide insights that inform product, engineering, and business decisions that can drive user growth and engagement in our Wallpapers and Ringtones app which currently serves 35 million monthly active users. You will bring scientific rigor and statistical methods to the challenges of product creation, development, and improvement with an appreciation for the behaviors of our users and artists.

You will be able to test improvement hypotheses quickly and get statistically significant results. You will forecast the impact of the improvements and help decide what to improve next. You will analyze how the app is used, and suggest changes in design, search, content recommendations, and discovery that are validated with quantitative modeling, experimentation, machine learning algorithms, and artificial intelligence. In addition, you will assist in performing ad-hoc analyses for our Product team as well as pricing experiments in order to improve revenue production and associated return on investment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute, and conclude statistical hypothesis testing
  • Design content recommendation algorithms that increase user engagement and usage
  • Create scalable data structures
  • Improve search by analyzing inputs, related searches, and typo suggestions
  • Analyze Big Data with the goal of improving growth and engagement
  • Describe and segment app users by their key metrics
  • Identify and capitalize on content consumption trends as they are developing
  • Predict user behavior
  • Classify audio, video, picture, and text
  • Advise product design

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of Data Science and practical machine learning experience
  • MSc or Ph.D. in Mathematics or a similar field
  • Experience in building production search, recommendations, advertising, or e-commerce systems
  • Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, and ElasticSearch
  • Extensive experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches including in the fields of machine learning, statistical modeling, forecasting, econometrics, or other related fields
  • Experience using machine learning and deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow
  • Scientifically rigorous approach to analysis and data, and a well-tuned sense of skepticism
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets with high dimensionality and complexity
  • Fluency in SQL and a scripting language (Python, R, Matlab or similar)
  • Attention and high-quality commitment to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain learnings to both technical and non-technical partners
  • Team player with a proven track record of collaboration with both non-technical and technical team members
